Carol Gilchrist

Carol is an active member of the Regional Art League of East Texas, the Lakes Artists Art League and an active member of the local art community. Her artistic specialties include pastel, watercolor and oil.

Carol began developing her skills as an artist growing up in Houston TX. After graduating high school, Carol attended Lamar University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Art and a minor in History. While at Lamar, she met and married her husband Wallace "Buzz" Gilchrist. They lived in Nederland for several years after marrying then moved to Jasper TX, where they continue to live and have raised three sons: Patrick, Michael and Matthew.

During the years living in Jasper, Carol stayed true to her interests and continued to draw, paint, sketch and create beautiful works of art. Her work is exhibited in multiple studios and businesses in Houston, Jasper and surrounding areas. She has taught art and history at the local high school and has been a substitute teacher for the Jasper school district off and on for over 15 years.

Carol is warm, friendly, and enjoys her family and friends. She is an energetic member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She has been and active member of the local chapter of Beta Sigma Phi for many years.
